Telegroup, Inc., Announces Web Products Roll-Out
Fairfield, Iowa, April 1, 1998 Telegroup, Inc., a leading provider of global telecommunications services, continues its commitment to providing its customers with the most advanced, comprehensive services by offering Internet access and website hosting/design products.
According to Paul Stokstad, Director of Marketing, Telegroup.net, "Telegroup will be providing both dedicated and dial-up Internet access service within the U.S. This will allow our customers to send and receive e-mail and to surf the web from their home or business. With 600 points of presence (POPS) around the United States, our geographic coverage will make Telegroup one of the largest Internet service providers in the country."
"For website hosting and design, our primary market will be small- to medium-sized businesses. The Telegroup website hosting service will enable businesses to sell their products online, with a focus on providing user-friendly interfaces to allow them to maintain and update their own 'virtual storefront.' These websites can be designed to take charge card transactions online and to include the value-added elements of database integration and search capabilities to help bring significant consumer traffic to the site."
These web access and website hosting products, which will be available June 1998, are the first step in the company's development of a broad array of Internet-related products that will enable Telegroup customers to participate effectively in the marketing and personal information opportunities available on the Internet.
